² Max. operating pressure = maximum set pressure of the safety valve; shutdown pressure is lower.

  • Details & Features

The gas-tight GB compressors have been specially developed for the compression of helium, heliox and other noble gases in continuous industrial operation. Targeted water cooling of the intercoolers, aftercoolers and valve heads effectively reduces the thermal load, which increases the service life of the components and minimises wear. Recirculation of blow-by and loss gases and encapsulated safety valves ensure minimal gas is lost. Low oil consumption, high ease of maintenance and operational reliability even at inclinations of up to 30° make the GB series the ideal solution for industrial and maritime applications.

    B-CONTROL MICRO compressor control system

The B-CONTROL MICRO is a modern, user-friendly compressor control system with a color display that intelligently manages and reliably monitors all basic functions. Interaction between the user and the control system is intuitive and straightforward, with information displayed in clear text. Various languages are available. External signal transmitters can be connected at any time, and operation in a networked system or with an external display is also possible.

    Kompressorsteuerung B-CONTROL SMART

    System design

The units feature a direct coupling, are equipped with vibration dampers and are suitable for installation without a foundation. The gas-tight design ensures loss-free compression to the desired final pressure, making them ideal for the efficient recovery and transfer of noble gases, gas mixtures, and heliox. The water-cooled series is suitable for environments where air cooling is not available and includes an automatic condensate drain for reliable condensate removal.

    Compressor block

The BK 23 to BK 52 block series feature a specially engineered crankcase design that ensures even distribution of internal gas forces. Precision manufacturing with tight tolerances and minimal clearance delivers outstanding energy efficiency. Plasma-nitrided cylinders, chrome-plated piston rings, and finely honed surfaces minimize friction and contribute to extended service life. The integrated oil pan, flanged beneath the crankcase, reduces oil consumption and enables installation at angles of up to 30° in any direction.

    B-LINK 4G

With an integrated WiFi or 4G router, compressor systems equipped with B-CONTROL MICRO can be wirelessly connected to the B-CLOUD. This enables stable remote access, reliable remote monitoring, and secure data transmission via WLAN or mobile networks. If required, the B-LINK 4G can be installed externally to optimize signal strength. It is designed for use in Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and the Asia-Pacific region.

    Options

    B-CONTROL III

The B-CONTROL III is the premium control system for complex applications. Its 7-inch touchscreen display provides a user-friendly visualization of all operating data. Features such as a data logger, USB interface, Remote HMI, and protocols including OPC UA, Modbus, and CAN bus are integrated. The control system supports up to four compressors in a network and can be expanded flexibly.

    Soft start

For a smooth start-up of your system, the use of a soft starter is recommended, as it significantly reduces the starting current. From a motor power of 75 kW and above, this function is included as standard in combination with the B-CONTROL control system. Alternatively, a frequency converter can be used. In addition to enabling soft starting, it allows the delivery rate to be adjusted according to actual demand, helping to reduce energy consumption – for maximum efficiency and operational reliability.

Monitoring of intermediate pressures and intermediate stage temperatures

This monitoring system is ideal for continuous or fully automatic operation, as well as for systems without constant specialist supervision. If defined limit values are exceeded or undershot, an automatic shutdown is triggered. The current actual values are displayed in the B-CONTROL compressor control system.

    B-CLOUD & B-APP

With BAUER B-CLOUD and the B-APP, users can keep an eye on their compressor system at all times, even remotely. Operating data, maintenance instructions, and status messages are transmitted and visualized in real time. This increases transparency, simplifies monitoring, and supports optimized maintenance planning. In addition, the stored operating data in the B-CLOUD is available for later analysis and system performance optimization. If the condition of your compressor system changes, B-CLOUD or B-APP will notify you immediately – by email or via push notification straight to your smartphone.

    B-LINK

Wi-Fi and 4G routers enable the wireless communication of the B-CONTROL MICRO with the B-CLOUD. They establish a reliable Wi-Fi or mobile network connection, allowing secure remote access to the compressor system.

Intake device and intake buffer vessel

The intake device supplies air or gas to the compressor at a monitored intake pressure. If predefined pressure limits are exceeded or not met, the system automatically shuts down for protection. To minimize pulsations in the intake area, the use of an intake buffer tank is recommended.

Separate intake buffer and condensate vessel

In this closed system, the gas released during automatic condensate drainage is captured within the containers and fed directly back into the compression process. The system can also operate without a customer-supplied gas balloon. Its design is based on the combined container concept but consists of two separate vessels. The delivery scope also includes a suction solenoid valve and a compensation line for returning the collected gas to the intake side of the compressor.

    Pre-lubrication pump

After extended downtimes, the bearings are automatically pre-lubricated to ensure safe start-up. This process is managed by the B-CONTROL control system.

    Refill device

The hand pump is used to refill compressor oil into the crankcase under pressure, ensuring a clean and controlled oil supply.

    Intermediate pressure gauge

Analog pressure gauges are installed at appropriate points of the compressor system and allow for easy monitoring of operating pressures. They support diagnostics and simplify maintenance work on the system.

    Plate heat exchanger set

The plate heat exchanger enables the creation of a separate, closed cooling water circuit for the compressor. This is especially important in open cooling systems that use river water, seawater, or open cooling towers. By isolating the compressor from the primary cooling source, the system ensures a consistently high and reliable cooling water quality for compressor operation.

    Heat exchanger set

The set includes an air-water heat exchanger that allows water-cooled compressor units to operate independently of an on-site water supply.
