1966–1975 | Big steps – new dimensions

Expansion, innovation and prestigious international projects characterise a visionary decade at BAUER KOMPRESSOREN

1967 – New plant in Gartenberg

The company continues to grow steadily:

A new branch plant for stationary and mobile systems in the 7 to 15 bar range is built in Gartenberg.

What makes it special:

  • Frame construction, painting and shipping – all under one roof.
  • Efficient manufacturing processes for growing quantities.

1967

1968 – Screw compressors become standard

Already in the product range since 1965, series production of the first screw compressor systems now begins.

  • Pressure range: 7–15 bar
  • Areas of application: industry, trade, energy

‘Building tomorrow's standard today’ – Hans Bauer actively lives by this motto:

‘I want to build machines that do their job 100%. Every percentage point less costs 10% – and a year's head start.’

1968

1970 – From Egypt to Siberia

BAUER at the Aswan Dam

With the commissioning of the 12th and final turbine of this monumental structure, BAUER compressors make a key contribution to controlling the water masses for energy generation.

Pipeline testing in the Soviet Union

BAUER supplies three-stage high-pressure compressors with 120 bar for the new natural gas pipelines in the Urals, specially designed for mobile use on muddy ground.

  • Robust chassis with wide tyres
  • Extreme load capacity for long distances

1970

1972 – Relocation & records

The Gartenberg plant moves to Wolfratshausen

The production facility is reorganised and from then on specialises in stationary screw compressor systems.

The largest BAUER of all time

With the DA 180 H-180 model, BAUER presents a gigantic high-pressure compressor system:

  • Power: 180 hp diesel engine
  • Pressure: up to 220 bar
  • Delivery rate: approx. 8000 litres of air/min.
  • Special feature: combination of high- and low-pressure compressors – still in use today

1972

1975 – Innovation for better health

BAUER invests heavily in research and develops the ‘SILENT’ low-pressure compressor.

  • Noise level: only 62 dB – revolutionary at the time
  • A true pioneer in terms of noise protection and occupational safety
  • Still in use today – in laboratories, workshops and medical facilities
