After a long 336 hours, Australian marine biologist Lloyd Godson emerged from his underwater habitat at Legoland Germany's Sealife Aquarium as the new Guinness World Record holder.
A BAUER compressor ensured a supply of the purest breathing air during the 14 days, which was essential for Lloyd Godson to achieve his incredible feat of generating no less than 2,500 watt hours of electricity on an ergometer during this period.
Legoland's requirements for Lloyd's air supply were enormous: after all, an absolutely safe and fail-safe supply of the purest breathing air had to be guaranteed around the clock. And that over a period of 14 days!
Due to the legendary quality and reliability of its compressor systems, the superior air treatment technology in accordance with the BAUER PureAir standard and the technical expertise of BAUER sales engineers in system design, the market leader BAUER KOMPRESSOREN was the only choice for the air supply.
A powerful 680-litre compressor from the new POSEIDON line provided the main supply for the habitat. A MARINER 320 from the PROFI-LINE was also available as a backup compressor to step in during filter change breaks. The breathing air produced was reduced to cabin pressure via a pressure reducer unit.
In order to achieve the specified record, Lloyd had to pedal his ergometer for up to 10 hours a day. A sweaty business! A pleasant side effect: the cool, dry BAUER breathing air acted like air conditioning, keeping the humidity below 60% and making Lloyd Godson's huge daily workload bearable.
Company owner Heinz BAUER took the opportunity to personally congratulate Lloyd on his impressive achievement during an invitation to the BAUER KOMPRESSOREN GmbH company premises.
