Filtration
Besides the safety devices integrated in the compressor, filtration is the single most important feature of the system. Bad filtration may cause rapid cylinder corrosion, make the regulator to free flow (ice build up) or endanger the divers health through noxious fumes, etc.
The filtration system employed by BAUER KOMPRESSOREN for breathing air has five stages:
- particle filter in the suction tube
- micronic intake filter
- intermediate filter
- oil and water separator
- final filter system
The particle filter obstructs larger dirt and dust particles contained in the intake air.
The micronic intake filter traps finer dirt particles down to a size of 10 µm contained in the intake air.
The intermediate filter employs a sintered metal filter to remove oil and water vapour.
After the final compressor stage, the oil and water separator removes liquids, vapours and solid contaminants.
The final filter system chemically removes residual moisture and gaseous contaminants.
